Bride and groom watermelon carving

One of my latest work is the wedding display with a bride and groom image carved in watermelon. Where are fruits, carved apples, and big red and yellow flowers carved from bell pepper, arranged around the watermelon. A sculpture of two dove birds are on the top of the watermelon.

Wedding Fruit Basket

 



 



The fruit basket with watermelon was designed to be a wedding decoration. Estrella and 5 rose medallions carved on watermelon, a pair of white swans of daikon and delicious fruits surrounded by clouds of Gypsophila flowers.

Blue roses and decorative heart on watermelon

This is a detail of a fruit display I made for a White and Blue themed wedding.
The watermelon is garnished with blue roses carved of daikon radish and colored in blue.
The names Sergey and Natalie are framed in a decorative heart.

Flower Wedding Monogram In Fruit Display

Tiny white flowers for initials, Chinese cabbage for chrysanthemums and daikon for roses.

C and M initials are carved and decorated with flowers to complete a wedding monogram.

 

This is a very special design done for Crystal Themed wedding. Maria, the bride, said that they were going to have several decorations made of crystal, as crystal broche at her bridal bouquet and crystal initials on top of wedding cake.

I used the idea of crystals for the watermelon design. The tiny flowers attached to the letters look like crystals.  The special thing about the design is the white flowers. They change color when lighten with colorful disco lights.

Family Tree For Wedding Decoration



This tree carved on watermelon was specially designed for the wedding of Andrey and Veronica.

 

New ideas are found in the fruit arrangement. A tree with hearts of carrot as a pattern for wedding watermelon carving. And a nice looking and a very romantic pumpkin light with carrot inserts.

The rose medallion design was originated by carving artists from Japan. The design in the photo is my adaptation, I added swirls between roses which look great and do not overload the design.

Color Challenge

As I mentioned in the title, there was a turquois themed event. To match the color challenge, green roses with a blue center were added to a display. The colors gradation was a right decision, as I found later at the site, the gradation's idea was used for some pieces of the head table decoration.

Wedding Fruit Platter Decoration

I decorated the wedding fruit platter with a boat carved out of a squash. It's filled with raspberry and red currant, and garnished with the exotic frangipani flowers.

Vases, boats and vessels carved of vegetables look very good at the fruit platters. They add more space to the platter and make 3-dimencional look.

Bird sculptures of daikon radish keep leading, they are the popular decorations for wedding fruit arrangements. The heart line on the watermelon skin is carved with nice wavy details.

Gangster Theme Wedding Decoration

Chicago Gangster theme wedding, August 2014

 

The event was decorated with two fruit displays.

 

The first photo is a large fruit platter with a beautiful arc of fruits and flowers carved out of vegetables. A watermelon has a gangster couple image carved in it's skin.

The second fruit display went to a head table and it was a fruit basket. To add a gangster detail I carved bullet holes in the watermelon and set Ace four of a kind on top. The playing cards are carved of red apple and egg plant.

Cupids play with hearts

Hello everyone!

I am back to blogging and really happy to have you visit my webpage. Work and life kept me away from the Net. Sometime things were hard and seemed wrong so it made me think something should be changed. I needed time to obtain a balance.
So now, things seem improving and I have great news which I share in my next post.

Wedding Fruit Display With Heart Candle Light

This is my new wedding design. The top of the display is a pumpkin heart with a candle behind the sculpture. When it gets dark the candle witl lighten the decorative centerpiece.

Last year I did 3D pumpkin heart sculpture. That heart consisted of two halves.

Fruit Carving Display For Pink-And-White Wedding

Hearts and love signs at watermelon

When I work on a carving display I think how it will fit the whole decoration of the event.

At our first meeting with a client I always ask about the idea of a head table decor. I consider any details, a cake, fabric color, a wedding bouquet. And then I can suggest a proper design of fruit display.

This time I worked on Pink-and-White wedding. When I came to the event hall and saw all the beauty I got amazed. My fruit display fit perfectly the head table dressing!

By the way, what do you think of my new roses with wavy petals, carved of beet-root with Kom-Kom knife? I am going to use them for a carving exhibition that we are having at the end of November.

As for the watermelon design, a bride asked to carve some more hearts or signs, or something that could explain their feelings. I suggested to carve these male and female signs. The girl said 'Wow, great, perfect, I love it!'

Just wanted to share this story with you to show how I work :))
