>>  1/27/2013

I am sorry for the mistakes in my previous post about Snow White watermelon. I appologize for making you confused with my English writing. Thanks to Kathleen (Step by step in the kitchen), the article was corrected!

What is new in my kitchen? Oh, I am preparing for Valentine Day. Would like to present new chocolate hearts made in 3D Love silicone mold.

If you have Lekue 3D Love Mold  let's play with it!

You will need:
dark chocolate
white, pink or any colorful chocolate

Method:
Melt pink chocolate and fill the small heart cells.
Melt white chocolate abd fill the medium size heart cell.
Put the mols aside to let the chocolate harden.

Demold the chocolate hearts. Insert the pink small heart in the medium size cell, the medium chocolate to be placed in the big size cell. When the hearts move is done, you need to melt the dark chocolate and fill the cells around the white and pink hearts.

Chocolate made in Lekue 3D molds

You need:

Lekue silicone mold (Christmas Tree, LoveMold)
Chocolate (milk chocolate, dark chocolate, orange, green, white and any),
Sugar decorations for cakes (sugar balls, flaked coconut, sprinkle mix).

Method:

Melt chocolate in a microwave/water bath
I use water bath.
Fill the mold with melted chocolate and spread the chocolate by shaking the mold. When you shake the mold  you make air ball go out and the chcolate surface becoming smooth and shiny.

Put some sugar decoration on the chocolate surface.
Or you can go other way. Draw an ornament on the mold using a bright chocolate, let it freeze, and after that fill the mold with dark chocolate.

Let the chocolate freeze.
Gently demold chocolates and build the sculptures by bringing the parts together.

How To Make Apple Vase

I have many people visiting my blog by searching "How to make an apple butterfly"

When I was a child I had a collection with bugs, moths, dragonflies and other flying creatures. The most of the items from my collection were found  sleepy (dead) between window glasses and in some warm places in the balcony.

In this video I show how to carve a butterfly pattern on an apple. It's not so difficult. You may do that with a knife only. Though some special carving tools will be in help. See this video to understand how to make an Apple Heart for Valentine Day.

DO IT YOURSELF (DIY) - How To Carve Wedding Watermelon With Heart And Roses Pattern

Enjoy fruit carving art with me and make your own Heart&Roses wedding watermelon using my tutorial. The Heart&Roses design is suitable for wedding and Valentine Day.  For making this pattern you need some carving tools as thai knife and U-knife.

Step 1.
Choose a medium size round watermelon (5-6 kilo). Scratch a heart on a watermelon skin. Use a heart stencil to draw a nice one.

Cut a heart with a thai knife and remove green skin inside the heart silhouette cutting small pieces of skin.

Step 2. Carve a rose inside the heart. Then using a round-shape knife make slots. Cut from the heart edge toward the rose petals keeping the heart line.

Step 3. As far as you done Step 2 cut a bigger heart with a round-shape knife. Insert the knife into the skin to flash. Remove watermelon skin around the heart.

Step 4. At this stage you carve a rose wreath around the green heart.

Step 5. Complete the pattern with a band carved around the roses. The final look of the watermelon makes a fruit stand or a special plate what fixes fruits.
I garnished the Heart&Roses Watermelon with the flowers from raddish, kiwi and apple carving centerpieces. Orange one is a nectarine.
